We work with property owners to provide affordable, short-term accommodation at a wide range of properties to people in employment and mature students, under the Live-in Guardian scheme .

How to become a property guardian for Grandploy Guardians

  • Apply

    Fill in our property guardian application form and specify which property you would like to apply for. We will only provide more information about the property if you are selected by Grandploy Guardians.

  • Pass the Selection Process

    If your application adheres to Grandploy Guardian’s and the property owners’ criteria then we will contact you with more information. Please see property guardian requirements below to find out more about our criteria.

  • View Property

    If we believe you would make a suitable property guardian then Grandploy Guardians will contact you by phone or email to arrange a convenient date for a viewing.

  • Take Residence

    Once all parties are happy you will be asked to provide documentation and sign a Licence Agreement before arranging a suitable move in date.

Property Guardian Requirements

To be a Grandploy Guardian you must be able to provide the following documentation:

One of these
Driving License
National Citizen Card
Two of these
Proof of regular income
UK bank account statement
Proof of full-time employment

Please note, all these documents must be available for us to inspect and photocopy when you sign the licence agreement. If you are unable to provide any of these documents then your application will not be able to proceed.

All of our applicants must be:

  • Employed or Self-employed. (Mature students will be considered if proof of income or savings is provided.)

  • Responsible and flexible

  • Ready to move at short notice

  • Without dependents and pets

All our Guardians are expected to:

  • Maintain security at all times, including no disclosing of security codes or keys to non-guardians

  • Report security breaches or issues

  • Report remedial and reactive maintenance issues

  • Keep room and property clean and tidy

  • Not host parties or gatherings

  • Adhere to the Fire, Health and Safety Instructions

  • Adhere to Guardian Rules specified in Licence Agreement
